Evaluating Game Platforms

I am evaluating game platforms. The first game trailer we watched was called 'Journey.' The graphics in the video looked really good but the characters looked a bit weird, I thought. The music made it look very exciting and interesting. I'm not sure if playing the actual game, would be as interesting and good as the trailer looked though. 

The second game that we watched was called 'Never Alone.' The graphics in this trailer was also really good. There was a lot of adventure and out there things. Personally I don't think I would play this game, I think it looked quite childish. This game was made in Alaska because a lot of the community didn't have much to do with the youth so they made a game for the students. The students grades were only at 54% and after the game was released, they went up to 91%. I think this is a really good idea that could affect communities, people could make games for their youth and bring more people together. How could this work for our community?

Error Control

What are Parity Cards?
Parity Cards are little cards like in the picture above. In the one above, there were rows of 8 by 8. We had to make sure the black cards and the white cards were even. If they weren't, we flipped them. When we played the game above, if there were an odd amount of black cards, we would flip the card at the bottom so it would be black and there was an even amount of black cards. For the first row there is two black cards, which is even. For the next one there was five blacks cards which was odd, so I flipped the bottom one so then there was six cards (even.) If there was an error in the cards, we could break it down and find the error by going row by row until we came across the mistake.

Monday 7th August

Last week we decided our paint colours and started to paint on all four sides. We also figured out a design to put on the sides of the trolley.
This week we need to give our trolley a second and third coat of paint and do the design on one side.

Yesterday we started to paint the top and one of the sides of our trolley. Today we will continue to do the same.

31st July

Today according to our gantt chart, Emily and I will be painting the trays on our paint trolley. We will be deciding the colours and what labels will go where.
